REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

We are always on the look out for a better service. Our prescription re-order service to the local surgeries is free of charge. Excitingly we have joined forces with an award winning secure website,  www.myrepeats.com/newland - you may find this on line service more convenient for you. Take a look and see. Registration is quick and easy. Of course we are keeping all the usual traditional ways of ordering too: by phone, by email or just call in!

 

With your permission prescriptions can be ordered and collected from doctors surgeries in the area. It’s a good idea to call for the prescriptions as you have the chance to ask for any advice. If you are housebound for any reason ask for delivery. CLICK HERE FOR FORM

 

 

 

MINOR AILMENT SCHEME (PHARMACY CARE)  

A pharmacy is always a good place to ask for advice. A pharmacist can help decide if an aggravating cough is serious or not. The minor ailments scheme is available for everyone in Hull. If you don’t pay for your prescriptions and the pharmacist thinks it is appropriate, you maybe given a medicine free of charge. If it more serious you will be referred.

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION

Have you missed your pill? Has your usual contraception failed? Or are you not sure if the condom split? Or was one used?

Emergency Hormonal contraception works up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. In most cases it is free of charge, and you’ll be given advice about contraception too in a private consultation area.

MEDICINE USE REVIEWS – An MOT for your MEDICINES

Did you know there is a free service where you can chat in private with a pharmacist about your medicines? If you regularly take more than one prescription medicine, or take medicine for a long-term illness? e.g Asthma or Diabetes, a few minutes could change your life. A confidential medicines check up could help you find out more about your medicines and identify any problems. It helps you take your medicines in the best way.

SMOKING CESSATION

You know you want to give up but every time you try you end up really fed up with yourself because you’ve failed again! Do you recognize this? It’s a well known fact that if you get a bit of encouragement and support you are much more likely to QUIT! In the pharmacy as well as stocking a range of products to help you, there are three members of staff who are fully trained to provide ongoing support as part of the Hull and East Riding NHS Stop Smoking Support Service. This involves 6 sessions over 12 weeks to guide and urge you through the temptation. Nicotine Replacement is usually free of charge.
