Day Lewis Pharmacy offers a wide range of services and facilities for you and your family.

Dispensing

We dispense NHS prescriptions and will give advice on how to get the most out of your medicines. We keep a comprehensive stock and use a fast and an efficient wholesaler service to enable us to fill all prescriptions promptly.

Health Advice and Self-care

Our staff are available for advice on all medicines, minor ailments and lifestyle, in private if required. We can signpost you to other sources of advice and assistance if needed.

Travel Clinic

We offer a private clinic from the pharmacy, where we can discuss your travel plans and recommend any vaccinations that you may need for your trip abroad. We vaccinate on site and can offer malaria prevention medication without the need of a prescription. We are also an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. 

Minor Ailments Scheme 

As part of the NHS Hull wide scheme we offer this service to people who are exempt from prescription charges. No appointment is needed but your NHS number and registration with a Hull GP is required.  We can treat a number of minor ailments under this scheme, including hay fever, cold sores, head lice, acne, pain, cystitis and thrush.

Collection Kiosk

Struggling to collect your prescription during our opening hours? We now offer a 24 hour collection kiosk from outside the pharmacy. Please ask our team for more details (some exceptions apply)

New Medicine Service (NMS)

When you are prescribed a new medicine to treat a long term condition, our pharmacists will support you to use the medicine safely and to best effect. This is service is currently only available with certain medications, although our staff are always available to help you with any enquiries you may have.

Texting Service

You can provide us with your mobile phone number and we will text you when your prescription has been made up and is ready to collect in branch.

Blood Pressure Checks

if you would like to check your blood pressure then please pop in the pharmacy to book a FREE appointment

Prescription Collection Service

We offer a free prescription collection service from selected local surgeries, and we offer free delivery to the patients.  The new Electronic Prescription Service means we may be able to dispense prescriptions from surgeries further afield. 

Hypertension Case Finding Service

Alongside our regular blood pressure checks we are now taking part in the national Hypertension Case Finding Service where, for certain patients, we can offer free blood pressure checks and, if required, 24 hour monitoring (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring ABPM) to assess whether a single high blood pressure reading is a one off or something more regular.  Ask in store for more details.

Patient Medication Records

Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us check for possible problems, such as interactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you may have. Unwanted Medicines

Please return all unwanted medicines to the pharmacy where we will dispose of them safely.

We also dispose of batteries.

We are closed all bank holidays and public holidays.

Our staff work hard to provide you with the best possible service. Please treat them with the courtesy and respect they deserve. We reserve the right to refuse to provide services to individuals who act in a violent, threatening or aggressive manner.

We are a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

We offer both on site vaccination and certification for only £65.
